Affiliates

The Interventional Nurses Council (INC) is a council of the CSANZ with a direct affiliation with the Interventional Council.

The INC was established in 2011 and became an official council of the CSANZ in 2012. It was established as a result of a demand for formal representation of this nursing specialty.

The goal of all cardiac cath labs is to accomplish the best outcome for our patients. To do this, it is essential to practice team work. Having well trained professionals practising as a team is the key for improved patient outcomes and thus achieving better results using clinical evidence.

Aims of the Interventional Nurses Council:

  • Represent interventional nurses’ on to CSANZ/IC and ANZET executives
  • Advise/endorse on matters related to: Development of Programs of Practice, Research and Education in the Interventional Setting and Guideline and standards in these areas.
  • Articulate Interventional Nursing as its own specialty in a rapidly evolving and dynamic environment
  • Encourage and support opportunities for INC/CSANZ affiliates

To become affiliated with the INC, you must first join the CSANZ , please go to the CSANZ website - for directions on how to join and make your primary affiliation with the INC. The Affiliate program within the ANZET meeting offers a great opportunity to update your knowledge, share your experiences and network with likeminded professionals.
